arrow_back Add a Second Scene to your Story (challenge)

Transcript

In this add-on, you’ll learn how to add a second scene to your story, then you’ll program the dialogue in that scene on your own.

To begin, select a backdrop for the second scene.

This example will use the “beach malibu” backdrop, but you can use any backdrop you like for your story.

Do that by clicking looks, and place a “change backdrop to” block at the end of your story.

Great! Now the backdrop will change at the end of the story.

Now you need to set which backdrop should appear at the beginning of the story. Place a “change backdrop to” block at the beginning of your story, and change the value to the name of your first backdrop. Test your code.

Great! Now there’s a second scene! To code this scene, drag out a new event for each sprite.

This code should run when the backdrop switches to the new scene rather than when the flag is clicked.

Now you can add to your story by coding the dialogue in a second scene.
