arrow_back Bring Back a Familiar Character
In this add-on, you will add a character from a previous project.
This video will help you get started on coding your add-on, but it won't give you all the steps.
This example uses the monkey from the Day 3 Depict and Deduce project, but you can select any sprite from a previous project, such as a friend sprite from your Profile Page, an image from Pictogram, or a character from your Viral Video.
To start, click the "My Stuff" folder, and open a previous project.
Click the triangle at the bottom of the scripts area to open your backpack.
The backpack is attached to your username, so as long as you’re signed in, anything that you put in it can be used in your other projects.
Then, click a sprite to add to the Time Lapse project, and drag it to the backpack.
When you release the sprite, you should see it in the backpack.
If not, click and drag it over to the backpack again.
To use this sprite in your Time Lapse project, click the "My Stuff" folder, and open your Time Lapse project.
Click the backpack to view its contents.
Click and drag the sprite to the sprites area.
Now, the sprite and all of its code are in your project.
Click the scripts tab to see the sprite's code.
Program the sprite to move and talk when the backdrop switches.
In this example, the sprite hides when the flag is clicked.
When the backdrop switches to Depict and Deduce, it shows, says something, and walks across the stage.
When the backdrop switches to Style Board, the sprite moves across the stage and says something else.
Now it's your turn.
Add a sprite from a previous project to the backpack.
Then add the sprite to your Time Lapse project.
Program the sprite to move across the stage and say something about your CS First experience!
