7. Wrap-up: Dance Party
Today, you used a very important computer science concept: a forever block, or loop.
Your dance video could not have been created without them, and music in general, could not be created without the concept of a repeating loop of musical notes.
Loop statements are used everywhere, even in medical devices that save lives every day.
An ICD is an small device used by doctors and physicians to help control conditions such as sudden cardiac arrest.
This medical device uses a loop statement to constantly monitor a person’s heart rate before sending electrical pulses or shocks when it detects a very fast, abnormal heart rhythm.
In this club, you are using the Scratch programming language to build projects. Computer scientists like you use many different programming languages, but every language makes use of the repeating loop. Understanding repeating loops will make it easy for you to use them in your future computer science experiences in high school, or even when learning more computer science on your own. You'll recognize a loop no matter what programming language you use in the future.
In the next CS First club, you will make a Musical Art piece that lets someone interact with your program to play sound and music.
